Welcome to the 20th ICCD World Deaf Chess Championships 2026

Welcome to the 20th ICCD World Deaf Chess Championships, taking place in Roquetas de Mar (Almería, Spain) from 6 to 15 May 2026.

The International Committee of Deaf Chess (ICCD) has been organizing international chess championships for deaf players since 1949.

The ICCD World Deaf Chess Championships are the most important global event in Deaf chess and are held every four years, bringing together national teams and individual players from around the world.

The 2026 edition will feature team and individual competitions, including classical, rapid and blitz events, as well as the 38th ICCD Congress, making it a truly global celebration of Deaf chess.

This prestigious event promotes sporting excellence, unity, friendship and inclusion within the international Deaf community.
